P. D. Ouspensky

P. D. Ouspensky was born in Moscow in 1878 into a family of artists and intellectuals. He gained worldwide and lasting recognition as the most important expounder of G. I. Gurdjieff’s teachings, the teachings of the Fourth Way. The Fourth Path is a system that differs from the traditional paths in that it integrates all three centers of consciousness. It combines the development of bodily consciousness on the path of the fakir with the development of feeling consciousness on the path of the monk and the development of thinking consciousness on the path of the yogi. Ouspensky died in England in 1947.
