OM C. Parkin

As a spiritual master of the Silent Tradition, OM understands how to unite the Western and Eastern streams of wisdom teachings. The radical nature of his work, with which he teaches and serves the path of human awakening, is a rare treasure in today’s world. An encounter with OM deeply questions what you are not and allows you to fall into what you have always been.

As a spiritual master of the Silent Tradition, OM understands how to unite the Western and Eastern currents of wisdom teachings. The radical nature of his work, through which he teaches and serves the path of human awakening, is a rare treasure in today’s world. An encounter with OM deeply questions what you are not and allows you to fall into what you have always been.

His many years of studying academic psychology did not give him any real insight into human nature. However, spending time with his Sufi teacher proved more fruitful. Later, he took up the teachings of the Enneagram through oral tradition. As a result of a serious car accident in 1990, at the age of 27, he crossed the threshold of death and awoke, ego-less, to the reality of the non-dual Absolute. His spiritual teacher Gangaji, whom he met shortly afterwards, supported him in integrating his fundamental transformation, which completely transcended his everyday experience. She showed him the way to her Advaita teacher H. W. L. Poonja, a direct disciple of Ramana Maharshi, who gave him the spiritual name OM and inspired him to teach from the perspective of Advaita reality.

OM’s spiritual teachings of the Silent Tradition are based on the Eastern Advaita tradition (teachings of non-duality, best known in the West by Ramana Maharshi) as well as on the teachings of the Fourth Way, which were made famous in the West by Georges I. Gurdjieff, and are also grounded in Western experiential paths (e.g., Christian mysticism). In his teaching, he also uses modern psychological and psychotherapeutic methods. The goal is self-knowledge through inner work, which ultimately leads to the realization of the true nature of human beings.

He himself says: “In the innermost heart of the religions of the East (advaita, Zen, etc.), we find the ripest fruits of the philosophy of BEING. The mystery of the dissolution of the world. Western spiritual culture has produced knowledge about the evolution of consciousness—the philosophy of becoming. The highest teaching is the doctrine of union, which unites the paths of love and truth (small wedding) and BEING with becoming (great wedding). Thus, in highest knowledge, that which was never separate is united.” OM C. Parkin
