P. D. Ouspensky

P. D. Ouspensky was born in Moscow in 1878 into a family of artists and intellectuals. He gained worldwide and lasting recognition as the most important expounder of G. I. Gurdjieff’s teachings, the teachings of the Fourth Way. The Fourth Way is a system that differs from traditional paths in that it integrates all three centers of consciousness. It combines the development of body consciousness on the path of the Fakir, with the development of feeling consciousness on the path of the Monk, and the development of thinking consciousness on the path of the Yogi. Ouspensky died in England in 1947.
